Personal Bio
As an avid outdoorswoman and artist with a knack for organization and planning, she fancies painting, gardening, and photography in her free time as well as thoroughly enjoying activities such as hiking and camping, and participating in archery and fishing with her young son. She volunteers and chaperones with her child’s local Cub Scouts pack, utilizes her love of history, geography, and cartography for her road trip planning projects, as well as exploring her roots as her family’s apprentice historian and genealogist. With 80s & 90's pop culture classics like Jurassic Park, Dante's Peak, Indiana Jones and Twister influencing her childhood dreams, ending up in a STEM-based academic path was the natural direction. When asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, her goal was a Park Ranger because of her love for animals and rocks. Family summer road trips cultivated her skills with navigation and identification and ignited her love of home-grown travel and thirst for knowledge. Throughout the decades, her love of wildlife and lithology has grown, but her umbrella of professional interests further embraces cartography, archeology, geology and paleontology. She still aims to be a Park Ranger even if she retires into it. Because sometimes life is not a straight path to your destination and isn't always the easiest nor shortest with plenty of obstacles to overcome. She attributes her collection of skills, interests, and experiences to her parents' support and knowledge (and the pivotal 90's science & natural disaster movies).
