There is no hiding it. I am a new Notary Signing Agent. I did my first loan signing in November 2019. Prior to this my notary experience was primarily inhouse for employers along with wills, affidavits and jurats for private clients. That said, I have 20 years of experience reviewing contracts which are in many ways similar to loan documents. I understand how to review contracts, why everything must be checked, why signatures must be consistent and a match to ID’s. I know and appreciate that the potential impact of an error is a missed dealing or funding date which can have a significant financial impact on the investor or borrower.

I have 20 years of experience working in investment banking where my primary role was/is being responsible for a team of specialists whose role is to ensure the following
-subscription documents are properly completed and signed -all AML/KYC documents are in order -review all money transfers to ensure compliance with the US Patriot Act and other relevant global regulations and sanctions programs. -timely and accurate processing of subscriptions and redemptions to and from hedge and private equity funds -timely and accurate reporting for hedge and private equity funds and critically, ensuring all personal information and highly confidential information is stored appropriately and purged timely and in accordance with relevant data storage and protection laws. Additional responsibilities ranged from client relationship management, sales and marketing, liaising with legal and regulatory professionals both in house and at top tier fund managers, analyzing and reporting on regulation changes, training and making things right in the event of an error.
