I began my career in 1987 after graduating from Charles Academy of Beauty Culture and becoming a State of Alabama–certified Professional Cosmetologist. I worked independently before opening my first salon, Steppin Up in Styles, where I mentored cosmetologists who later became salon owners. I also served as a business consultant in Mobile, AL, and Atlanta, GA, and taught 21st Century Hair Weaving for continuing education. Later, I opened Phase II Hair Studio while earning dual degrees in Social Sciences and Secondary Education with a minor in History from Spring Hill College. For 22 years, I taught grades 6–12 in World History, Civics, Geography, and U.S. History. I served as History Department Chair, New Teacher Mentor, Lead Teacher, and sponsor for the National Honor Society and Azalea Trail Maids, among many roles. I also wrote curriculum, developed online history courses, and led professional development for teachers. Outside the classroom, I coached Scholars Bowl, cheerleading, and softball. My academic background includes coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis, Clinical Mental Health, and Academic Affairs–Student Services. I earned a Master’s in Professional School Counseling from Walden University and am a Licensed Professional School Counselor in Alabama and Minnesota. Today, I bring this experience in education, leadership, and service into my role as a Commissioned Notary Public and Certified Notary Signing Agent through the National Notary Association — providing professionalism, accuracy, and integrity in every signing.
