Dr. LaShawn Johnson is a seasoned business leader, entrepreneur, and certified project management professional with over 25 years of executive management experience in the telecommunications industry. During her tenure at AT&T, she held key leadership roles, including Chief of Staff, Transformation Lead, and Associate Director, where she honed her expertise in project management. Passionate about professional development, she mentored and coached individuals at all levels, instructing PMP Exam Prep and Project Management courses, successfully guiding over 200 employees to obtain their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. After a distinguished career at AT&T, Dr. Johnson retired in 2023 to fully pursue entrepreneurship. Now a full-time entrepreneur, Dr. Johnson leads multiple successful certified small businesses. In 2017, she founded Masters Degree Travel, LLC, an independent travel agency operating under her leadership. In 2022, she launched Sires Crown Natural Hair Essentials, a rapidly growing natural hair care brand that exceeded its initial revenue and growth projections in its first year. Most recently, she established Masters Degree Notaries, providing professional and reliable notary and loan signing services with the same dedication to excellence that has defined her career. Dr. Johnson holds a Doctor of Business Administration, an MBA, a Master’s in Information Systems Management, and a Bachelor’s in Business Management. She also maintains multiple professional certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner, and NNA Notary Signing Agent. Beyond business, Dr. Johnson is a devoted wife to Doug Johnson, a respected telecommunications labor mediator, and a proud mother to her sons, Douglas, Myles, Daniel, and the late Mychal, as well as a loving grandmother to Sire and Aaron. She is an avid traveler with a personal goal of visiting the Seven Wonders of the Ancient and Modern World within the next decade. A dedicated advocate for service, Dr. Johnson has been an active Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. member for over 20 years, contributing her expertise in technology and planning. She also continues to impact higher education, teaching at multiple universities across the country.
